Dr. Melanie Frogozo

dr frogozoDr. Melanie Frogozo graduated from the University of Houston College of Optometry (UHCO) in 2008 and completed her residency in Cornea and Contact Lens at UHCO in 2012. After residency, she was on faculty at the University of Iowa Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences where she focused on anterior segment disease and medically necessary contact lenses. In 2014, she returned to Texas and opened The Contact Lens Institute of San Antonio.

Dr. Frogozo is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (AAO) and the Scleral Lens Education Society; is an advisory board member of the Gas Permeable Lens Institute; a committee member of the Contact Lens and Cornea Section of the American Optometric Association; an associate member of the International Society of Contact Lens Specialists; and a member of the Texas Optometric Association. She is also an adjunct faculty member of the University of Incarnate Word Rosenberg School of Optometry; and a contributing columnist for the leading source of contact lens information, Contact Lens Spectrum. Dr. Frogozo is a Diplomate candidate in the Cornea, Contact Lens, and Refractive Therapies section of the AAO. She is also a recipient of the San Antonio Business Journal’s 2017 40 under 40 Award.
