Dr Ed Williams

Dr. Edward Williams has been actively managing keratoconus since 1985. His focus is on the visual rehabilitation of corneal disorders, the most common being keratoconus, and he sees an average of 20 keratoconus patients a week. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, a contributor to the Scleral Lens Education Society, and a member of the Society of Eye Care Specialists.

Dr. Williams’ practice in Denver originally opened in 1950 and from the beginning was both a private practice and a contact lens research and development facility. It was the clinical research site for Syntex Ophthalmics and is credited with designing the first gas-permeable contact lens.

Because his patient population has such a large number of patients with corneal disorders and the fact that the practice has been a research facility has allowed them to perform clinical research with advanced designs and materials for keratoconus.
